I just can't figure out how he didn't know!
I work with a nail gun all day. It has kick back. You know when it fires. They don't fire unless the nozzle is depressed (unless they've been rigged) It would have left a bruise and likely shattered his tooth. I am suspicious.
The most common nail gun accident is people walking around with their finger on the trigger and it hits their leg or a$$ nozzle first. This has happened four times in the last month at one of the sites I'm on. Trust me, you know. Unless he went into shock.

Well, I watched the story on the news and the man was sitting there with an 8-inch incision across the top of his head from where they took the nail out! It is beyond me, as well, how he could not have known! The explanation is that he fired the gun, had it kick back and turn 180 degrees so the nozzle was facing him, but he didn't realize it had turned, he thought he was hit with the butt end. It still is weird how the thing was lodged in his head and he didn't feel it go in...Really bizzare! Could he really have been in shock for 6 days???

Guess he could've KO'd.
Then again, if you think of what he thought had happened, it would be easy enough to think the pain was from the gun hitting him, and any blood. Guess the nail would be the last thing you would think had hit you, and if you can't see anything afterwards why would you ever think you had a nail in your head? :-3
