When they were young my dad and mum (who is no longer with us) were looking for a place to live and were being shown around an unfurnished and unoccupied flat by the owner, whose family had owned the building for a very long time. When she opened the living room door for them to see inside, my mum suddenly refused to go in. When asked why, she described what she had seen. The owner then said that the description had matched that of her own late grandmother, sat in a chair by the fireplace in the living room as it had been furnished and decorated many years before.
Needless to say, my parents looked for another place to live.
Anyone else got any ghostly tales to tell? They've got to be true mind!

This is an interesting phenomenon and quite common. People seem to leave behind an energy field that can be sensed by a 'sensitive' person. The other interesting phenomenon is how the 'sensitive' reacts to the energy field. This can depend on the spiritual quality of the energy field and the 'sensitive's' perspective of spiritual energy. the more the 'sensitive' knows about such things will determine their reaction to the field.

Hummph... I am decidedly an unbeliever in these type things however, I have been in a few places where I get this odd feeling that someone I know is around. I get the a vision of the person in my head, and quite often I find they are nearby.
Not quite far, that's a gas field you're sensing there:D

Ghost Stories
I have had a couple of times where I have a dream and it's very real, and i know it's going to happen and usually when it does, it's within a couple weeks, the worst was when I was 14, my best friend lived 2 houses down, I had a dream that she was killed by a car and I just laid there in bed, it was later than I ususally sleep in. I was shaking becuase I could hear lisas voice, about 10 minutes later my mom knocked on my bedroom door and said I have to tell you something , she told me lisa had been killed last night by a drunk driver on her bike. I had, had a dream she was hit by a car while riding her bike, I had interupted my mom before she told me becuase I had been so shook up over the dream, and she was shaken by what I had told her. this has happened a few times in my life.

I have experienced this myself throughout my life. It would usually happen when I was dropping off to sleep. It would wake me up with a start and then I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep for hours. (This would be the same as when a loud noise would occur when I was dropping off.)
Later, I established that this was coming from my own mind. I do not know the cause or reason why I would shout at myself, but when I had accepted this, the phenomenon stopped.

Ghost Stories
This is a great idea with the ghost stories, in time for Halloween!
This story is very true, scary and odd. I've sent it to a couple of websites, and they have published it. I've had many odd experiences throughout the years, but here goes this one...
One morning in 1998 or so, I was doing laundry. It was 8:30 in the morning, and I had that show "Haunted History" on the television. I had taped the show, so I was watching it as I was folding clothes. I like candles, and there was a lit candle on top of the television.
I had just finished hearing a story of a Union Civil War soldier who liked to appear to women. I believe the ghost was from Savannah, Georgia.
Anyway, I went downstairs to change the wash around, and I was coming back upstairs from the basement with a laundry basket full of clothes in my arms. I got to the top of the cellar steps and grabbed the doorknob with my hand, you know, as it was holding the basket. My arms were full. I walked through the door, and then I decided to kick the door closed behind me. As I kicked the door closed behind me, I turned my head to see...
Lo and behold, there on the steps, standing ever so lifelike, was a Civil War soldier dressed in a blue uniform with a hat. He had brown, slightly curly hair. He was about 5' 6'' and thin. He followed me upstairs from the basement. He was hunched over a little bit, as if to lean in, you know, like you do when you want to whisper something to someone. I saw his face as he was hunched over, and he said, "Pssst," like he was trying to get my attention. The door to the basement swung closed at that very same moment he said "Pssst," from the force of my kicking it shut.
I walked to the middle of the kitchen and stood there frozen for a minute, thinking, oh, my God, did I just see that? I had goosebumps all over, and my hair was standing on ends.
Finnally, I just continued on into the living room with the laundry basket and said, "Pssst, yourself."
I can only assume that the lit candle on the top of the television drew the ghost to me. I hope the ghost appreciated my sarcasm!!!
This ghostly incident happened in a house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Far away from Savannah, Georgia. The house wasn't that close to Gettysburg either (about a four hour drive), but we had been there many times.
Thinking about the incident later, I got a little bit mad that this ghost did this to me coming up from the basement steps. It could have been dangerous if he had scared me bad enough with my arms full of laundry actually on the basement steps. I could have fallen and gotten hurt. I'm glad I didn't fall and get hurt, and I'm glad he didn't scare me while I was actually walking up the steps.
