Being agreeable on Internet forums

Post by spot »

After several months' practice I have now refined "being agreeable on Internet forums" down to a fine art. The trick, I have discovered, is to agree with what everyone says (which especially involves not contradicting) and invariably emote over domesticated-animal-related fluff.

We should all have a try at the same time. Thursday 4th May.

If it works we can progress to having a Being Agreeable On ForumGarden Day on the first Thursday of every third month with an annual award ceremony for outstanding achievements.

I agree entirely with what you say but my word you've a lot of practicing scheduled.

I wish we had a kitten avatar we could play with.

Using a fluffy kitten might provoke claims that the site is speciesist and possibly even a complaint from PETA. That could cause some non-nice comments. On top of that, you may find that some pushback from the Star Wars fans complaining about you trying to co-opt their special day.

We have a number of bunny wabbits in the fields around the house. I could shoot one for you. No trouble 'tall. Where should I have it shipped?

I'm delighted with the positive spirit of cooperation from all sides of this thread. We shall undoubtedly consider your suggestion in detail at a later stage.

I especially agree with the "modest".

I too will be celebrating Star Wars on that date (tomorrow), however I would like to nominate myself for the Outstanding Achievements award, referencing an award I received yesterday from a well-known and respected source (Facebook) which I will quote:

"V----" (or Zap) "You have the greatest heart! No matter what happens, you will never leave your loved ones in the lurch. You'll never stop loving even when you have to leave this earth!"

I think that qualifies for "agreeable", does it not?

Cinco De Mayo! Of course! Lots of celebrations going on here. And then the day after I have to sit outside the supermarket and collect donations for my poppies which goes to support our veterans and their families.. ...

Oh wait! I forgot the time difference. What time is the Agreeable thing going to happen?

I managed all day to be agreeable. I never said one thing about the fiasco perpetrated by the republicans in Congress, yesterday, or that Orange-haired Huckster.

I do, however, need to replenish my supply of Woodford Reserve on the morrow.

Agreeableness comes at a cost, it seems.
