The Syrian Debate
Without taking sides for or against taking action because, quite frankly, I don't know any more. However, I am currently watching the debate on BBC but I find myself wondering if such a debate is likely to change any MPs minds regarding whether they will vote for or against. The only input I have seen so far is Cameron's stupid comment accusing anyone who is against air strikes being a supporter of terrorism, which has also outraged members of his own party, meaning that, if anything he may even lose a few votes from those not entirely convinced.
When I was at school, just as probably everyone else here, we were made to have 'debates' on subjects, but no matter how well a topic was presented, the vote on the proposal or opposition was always a simple popularity contest, and there would be no difference of 'votes' from beginning to end. I feel it is much the same in the Commons today.

Why are the SNP admired while Corbyn taking the same stance is a figure of derision ?
I sat and watched it this afternoon too, there are strong arguments both ways, I am strongly with the weirdos though.

I agree with you, Bruv ! I think a lot depends on what Russia will do and how many other countries get involved.

Not so long ago cameron was supporting IS against Assad that was before they twigged what they wewe actually supporting. Maybe if we'd kept out of it it would have been resolved by now. yet another country destabilised and a bad regime replaced with a far worse one.

Realistically the SNP aren't likely to form the next governmkent the murdoch media et al are ****ting themselves in case labour becomes a left wing party again. When you can't counter an argument ridicule the one putting it.

Too true - they keep hoping we'll forget about it but it's so important that we don't

What puzzles me is why no one in the debate reminded cameron et al.

Probably in the Interests of National Security - that usually covers all embarrassments they want to hush up.
