The reason I ask is because the opinions, attitudes, queries, responses, of posters is based many times on the era in which they grew up. I don't have a clue as to the average age and will not even quess.

Well, I'd venture a guess, but are we talking active forum members here at FG? or just average FG member, whether active or not? or average age of members of all forums?

Whichever, though, I would posit that Forums are generally inhabited by a more mature population these days.

I am going to say that early to mid 60s is a pretty good guess for FG.

I will be three-quarters-of-a-century old in November.

Anybody older?

Maybe take a poll, Lon, to see what comes up. I am in Lars' category, but I think the average age is lower.

I guess I am in the "mature" category, but don't feel mature most of the time.:-6

I imagine the age range depends on the type of forum, but a general purpose forum like FG attracts more mature punters.

I don't believe I am as old as I am, until the bones creak, keep forgetting how old exactly, and have to work it out......................I am a baby boomer born 47

I'm 47 years old, so that'll help counterbalance the average! :lips:

Were I a Camembert, the shop staff would be considering an attractive discount to get me out of the shop and onto a dinner table pretty soon.

As for Lon? He's a well-hung ham, the sort where people pay a lot of money for wafer-thin slices.

You have to express remorse first.

I'm at the age where when I go to an expensive restaurant, the server asks for the bill to be paid in advance, just in case! :wah:

You should have included a poll at the beginning of the thread.

55 here, so I'm still probably a youngster here.

I think the age of Forum Members in general (not just FG) is primarily reliant on the nature of the forum. A Gaming forum, for instance, is likely to have an age group of 15 - 25. Furthermore, they won't be discussions, as such, rather than posting their high scores for whatever the current 'in' game is.

Similarly, IT Techy-Type Forums are likely to have an age range mainly from mid 20s to mid 40s, as this the age group that have grown tired of the pointless games & have learned of the practical aspects of their machines.

FG, on the other hand is, in general, more of a sedate atmosphere, with the sort of upper age groups who like to wander down to their local Community Centre for a cuppa & a chat.

Yes I did see your piccy when you went on that FG meet in London, but that was quite a few years ago now, so I expect you have changed a little bit since then ! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

There's a bit of Benjamin Button about me Gill. I look younger every day. I'm about to reach my teenage years and will need some advice on the treatment of acne.

Yeah - why was that? It's like renaming Marathon to Snickers. No sense behind it whatsoever.
