Had to Take a Break.. What's Up?

I had to take a week off for my wife to have shoulder surgery. (It really sucks to have only one leg, and then to be able to use only one arm...and it's the left one!)

So what have I missed? Any spats, tiffs, funny posts, or bannings? And just who is this "oscar sellotape" person?

It's the same Oscar but with a strip of sellotape a across her mouth. I just wish it had the desired effect

Oscar is my Groupie, she hangs on my every word, she goes through phases,she was Oscar mate a while ago, it is just down to the minor errors she picks up in my posts.

What did you miss In the week? Bruv having a hissy after the UK voted In the EU elections and the Far Right won.... shhhh just don't mention Nigel Farage around Bruv.... he still thinks It hasn't happened as Is going to wake from some nightmare.

An upstart has stolen a few votes on the strength of his man next door approach, so far no great political power has passed to him.

He has ruffled a few feathers thats all.........they will be smoothed by May next year.

Thanks for the well wishes gang! My wife is actually a little perky today. she gets her bandages off and she'll be able to take a shower. She's also going to go with me to see the granddaughters and give them about 100 books that I got when they closed our school library and that should make her happier still.

(girl happy = me happy)

Oh and I changed my avatar to my school picture because...well I don't really know why I did that. Maybe I got jealous of Greg...

And yes, you read that right. They closed down my school library and gave away thousands of books to the students and teachers. Didn't even sell them. There's something quite sad about a school without a library, don't you think? (And ours was outstanding.) But I have to admit....none of the kids read anymore. The tests only test for technical reading and anything they need they look up on the internet.

It's depressing to me to think that none of my students will ever read Heinlein, Asimov, or any of a hundred books that made me what I am today...... *sniff*

I don't understand....how do you have a school without a library? what will they replace it with? Federal library cards and passwords through the internet?
