Say what you want about him I think he was a man that cared about his people. He wasn't perfect, his system wasn't perfect. It is common knowledge that he was elected 3 times and survived a coupe when the people forcibly put him back in office.

I respect the man for trying to find a balance, sadly he could not fit that thing called human nature into it. May he rest in peace and god speed to him.

Sean Penn sure got a ration of sh*t for being friendly with the guy. I'm pretty ignorant about Venezuela but it sounds like the bigshots in DC were pissed off about him not sharing/giving the country's oil to us.

It bothered me that someone had to leave their own country to receive good medical care. That doesn't say much for Venezuela's health system.
