Dining room set

Post by Boogalette »

I enjoy furniture with character. I love antiques. the new furniture in the stores today don`t catch my eye as the older styles do. I also prefer the cost of new-to-me furniture

So I`ve been browsing on some sites for a new-to-me set, with no luck.

I`ve been browsing for about a month. I`m about to give it up and go to Leon`s or one of the fine furniture stores we have in town and get something.

I started out just wanting a china hutch...LOL!

We`ll see. ;)

Is there not an antique auction room anywhere near where you live? I've got one ten minutes walk away, they have a furniture day every couple of weeks.

How far do you want to go to find a set?

I enjoy furniture with comfort in mind. At one time that was not the case and went for furniture simply on how good it looked.

I have now reached the age where comfort is paramount ----still has to look good though. Just bought last month a leather, swivel, rocking recliner. AHHH

We have a couple of those and the owners have over-inflated the value of their stock. they do have some lovely stuff, however. :)

I want to stay within an hour`s travel of my city. I have looked on the local craigslist type site and have found nothing. I even looked at a couple of cities that are over an hour away but nothing yet.

I would pick it up vs having it delivered.
