K.Snyder;1309004 wrote: And depending on the school your kid could very well end up in the hospital with a knife in his/her kidney. Is it honestly worth it? You said it yourself,.."immoral war"... War is either immoral or moral so by opposing one side you retain the other. You were for the Northern Vietnamese the day you refused to support American troops in the Vietnam war just the same as you support Americans in waging a flag waving war against Mexicans, Iraqis, French, British, Canadiens, etc... etc...
My question is why you refuse to see the possible escalation of unnecessary physical violence no matter which side one chooses to attain. You've chosen a side where no side would be present had you, among others, chose not to participate in such a war. I refuse to myself personally
I studied the long term war that became our war essentially when Lyndon Johnson sent troops after the false flag op known as the Gulf of Tonkin resolution.
The South Vietnamese Government was largely made up of people who had exploited the colonial power, France that pulled out after the debacle at Dien Bien Phu. Many were Buddhists. The North, primarily Roman Catholic were loyal to Hồ Chà Minh.
He had been educated in France, and had been involved in trying to liberate his country since 1941 when he returned to his country and battled the Japanese and Vichy French.
Basically, he and other Vietnamese were hung out to dry when instead of promised independence, the consensus was to allow France to resume colonial control of Vietnam, as we wanted them in NATO at the start of the Cold War.
We were foolish to send in troops and to create a situation in the South where the people in the countryside gravitated to supporting the Viet Cong and North Vietnam.
All we did by getting involved was to cost the American taxpayer a great deal of precious lives and tax money. It was a foolish venture.
So you can infer I am interested in supporting a communist regime if you wish, but I know how long that war had actually gone on, and who the players over the centuries of it had been and why they were there.
I might add too, that I am a nine year U.S. Army veteran, and was in SOCOM, and know low intensity conflict, asymmetrical conflict, and how it differs from mid and high intensity conflict.
I got out after seeing how criminal George HW Bush's government was for taking part in operations concerning Panama and Gulf War One.
I support the prosecution and conviction of his son, and his co-conspirator Cheney, and view the Smirk and Snarl show as a fascist neocon show guilty of extreme criminality.
I am not happy with .S. Military actions around the world, and support Ron Paul's vision of getting away from the model of servicing an empire.
We need to pull out of Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other places. Wed also need to practice tough love and end financial and military support for the Zionists and their Apartheid government in Israel. and act like we want out country to survive past the end of this century, and not become another failed empire, bankrupt and dead, cut into pieces much as happened to the USSR.

I'm sorry, but 'you' make no sense to me, as usual. From everything I've read on this issue, there was no flaunting of the American flag. The same cannot be said of the Mexican flag that day. Big time double standards as usual.
Guess what? That's not okay with this average American anymore. And I'm not gonna pretend it is. If I accept that we are all equal as Americans, that means you aren't more entitled then me to any right out there. And that damn sure includes telling my child how to dress to please your child. They are all under the same guidelines, so far as I'm concerned. And if it upsets your child enough to pull a knife - throw that kids ass in jail and see if they like those colors.

Why? So an American was on business and that American happened to enjoy celebrating on the 4th of July that American should be forced to keep quiet? Your premise is ethically wrong. It's horribly ignorant and takes a complete bigot to respond, in an unusual manner as stated earlier, to an action with one that is blatantly aimed at belittling another all due to the fact those individuals cannot resolve their own personal issues. They create issues just by simply being themselves and they disgust me
I can guarantee you, YZGI, that this incident was innately inspired by hatred derived from ignorance
Now what?

I stand corrected...........You match this Muy Mejor...
You are prejudice Mi Amigo
A prejudice is a prejudgment: i.e. a preconceived belief, opinion, or judgment made without ascertaining the facts of a case. The word prejudice is most commonly used to refer to a preconceived judgment toward a people or a person because of race, social class, gender, ethnicity, age, disability, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics. It also means a priori beliefs (without knowledge of the facts) and includes "any unreasonable attitude that is unusually resistant to rational influence."[1] Although positive and negative prejudice both exist, when used negatively, "prejudice" implies fear and antipathy toward such a race.

Waving a flag during a state of peace insinuates the need for war. Flags were made to distinguish armies from each other. As for your particular response known of it really concerns me at all because we don't share the same definitions at all.

They are all under the same guidelines, so far as I'm concerned. And if it upsets your child enough to pull a knife - throw that kids ass in jail and see if they like those colors.
Waving a flag during a state of peace insinuates the need for war. Flags were made to distinguish armies from each other. As for your particular response known of it really concerns me at all because we don't share the same definitions at all.

By this logic you're stating, quite clearly, that anyone related to a legal U.S. citizen should automatically gain legal access.

Come back crawling to you? Wow. Hat just got bigger.
If you could manage to understand what I'm saying then you'd have come to the conclusion that anyone waving a flag insinuates a lack of respect for all else.
Why the hell are "you" people so insecure "you" feel the need to wave a flag in order to make up for "your" courage?
Go ahead and walk down Baghdad waving an American flag and then suggest to me by simply doing so you hadn't sparked a physical reaction

And yet you seem to have no problem with Mexicans waving their flag on American soil. And honestly I don't either as long as I can wave the American flag without being suspended.

Morgan Hill students sent home over clothing - San Jose Mercury News
This article states that the students (football players, according to my daughter) also had tennis shoes with a flag emblem on them. I wonder if the vice principal told them to remove their shoes too?
My oldest daughter and her family live in Morgan Hill, (which is about 15 mi. south of San Jose, not a suburb of San Francisco as reported on some news broadcasts) and works at a Montessori school close to Live Oak school. I asked her if she'd noticed any unusual activity going on since this incident, (I was concerened that there might be some gang violence.) She said there was a lot of news media in evidence, cameras, helicopters hovering and reporters interviewing some of the people in the supermarkets, etc., but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. It doesn't sound like that if you listen to newscasters who are still talking about it.

I know that its seems like its not popular these days to display the symbol of our country, but the very fact that we can all debate this online here without fear of reprisal shows just how great our country is.
To me, the flag is, and always will be an awe-inspiring symbol. It is the symbol of a diverse people, united and engaged in one of the greatest political experiments of history, striving to tame a continent, then a world ... and eventually the stars themselves.
Who wouldn't be proud to be a part of that?;)

And nothing should be done.
I have to beg to differ. I celebrate the 4th of July every year over here. It's fun, I invite all my mates who happen to be English, Scots, Welsh and Irish and we have a grand 'ol pi$$ up and barb-b-que. The American flag flies and we ALL sing star bangled banner. (at the top of our voices) They share their holidays with me, so why wouldnt I celebrate mine with them? Holidays are a way of getting together for a booze up and friendly banter to help us forget the problems we share as a common humanity. :-6

I've no use for flags atm.
I said before and I'll say it again, I expect to minimize the risk for possible physical aggression. Cinco de Mayo celebrates a victory over French forces. Wearing other country colors in response to that specifically is a damn insult, what's so pain staking confusing about that? Wear the American flag and it's colors, just try and do it without being an obnoxious schmuck is all I ask

That quote is in reference to war that gives credence to one's right to wave a flag, BTS. Your premise is of "essential liberty" serving to signify the waving of a flag and your conclusion is backwards, the premise comes first. The "logical" conclusion is what's supposed to follow

Don't try and convince me people don't wear their countries flag and colors as a means to "sh*t" on those not as labeled. Yeah right these kids coincidentally wore, from head to toe(Reference shoes), in the American flag all the while living in an area known to have a significant Hispanic population on Cinco de Mayo...
