I'm so excited. I'm meant to be working during the Festival but my brother will let me off to see Kauto and Denman being paraded and watch the race. He believes It's a one horse race to kauto. The Bookies are dreading a Kauto/Denman 1/2. They seem to be taking few chances. Kauto is now backed down to 8/11 and Denman second favourite dispite what he did three weeks ago.
Seriously, If the first 3 come In that order, and you watch It on TV, you'll hear me screaming :wah:

1st......Imperial Commander 7/1
2nd ....Denman 4/1
3rd .....Mon Mome 50/1
4th .....Carruthers 33/1
I guess somebody may have made a bob or two with 3rd and 4th !!!
Poor Oscar ! :-1 Thanks for putting that on Gill.
I've just got home, cold, wet and tired.
What can I say?
Funny thing was, the moment It began raining, I knew he would not make It. The going needed to be good to firm or hard not muddy and soft. He nearly went at the 8th fence and made an amazing recovery but then fell at the 4th last.
Imperial Commander seems to fare better over soft ground and In my heart I knew that If he jumped well and clear, he could do It. Denman I didn't ever think was going to make, he seems to tire on that last run In and IC was gaining too well.
All was not lost. I still had a place bet return on Denman to collect on and recovered the money I lost on kauto.
TBH the money was never the Issue, for a moment, seeing the way kauto fell, I didn't believe he'd get up again. It really was a horrendous fall and I've seen less spectacular fallers break their neck. it was such a relief to see him get up. That was the Important thing.
Cheltenham Is a very tough course any-way but I can't take any-thing away from IC.... He ran a brilliant race and deserved the win.
