security tokens ??

Post by Snowfire »

The last two posts I tried to submit brought up a page informing me that the post had certain security tokens missing. There was nothing unusual or different in my posts. I simply went back a page and submitted again - successfully. What is this ?

Its an FG page not a browser page so it presumably indicates it originates with this site

I use Firefox

It seems to have something to do with cookies being accepted by your computer. Whether thats due to firefox or the forum software is the question, but it is happening to others.

Thanks. I've adjusted my firewall to the recommended settings.

What do I have to do to cash them in

Anyhow. You know "security tokens" is a euphemism so what exactly are you dangling ?

Ahah! Would this explain why I'm having trouble posting links here since I upgraded my Firefox?

It asks me what I want to open it with and then says it cant. I've only tried it once and was able to post (it was a repeat) by going back over my old posts and copying from there no problem. I am a technotwit of the first order, so I just put it down to incompetence. It was from the BBC website, which I've never had trouble with until I upgraded my Firefox yesterday.

You're using windows, correct?

Flash. I shall remember that. Thanks. My guess is you may be missing a certain piece of software referred to as a "plugin" for Firefox. The plugin is called Adobe Flash Player. Click the link below and check it out. If you need help, let us know.
