Prep week is underway. I'm going to be co-teaching World Geography (9th grade) and US History (11th Grade).

This year is gonna be great! :yh_dance

Teachers go back next Monday, I went in and did all my bulletin boards today. I left my flash drive at home, with the first week of lessons on it! I shall have to copy them some other day.

Big science meeting on Friday. I am taking my husband with me, first time he will be at school since his illness. The kids leave in the morning for L.A., the nurse won't be back until next week. I shall tell everyone how it went, I am a little antsy hoping he behaves himself and won't touch the science equipment........:-3

(yes, he does some childish things at times-he ate all my special gluten-free cookies when I was gone today, the whole bag! They cost a fortune!)

I'm just sitting here in bed watching my favorite reality shows

when a rogue storm pounds down on us.

OMG it was so frightening....lightning, thunder, high winds, pounding on my home....

Geeze...weather channel said that we'd have a little rain tonight:-5

It's a little better now, but I hate to see what my wee plants look like outside since I haven't battened down the hatches...

weather channels have no idea what's going on half the time, a storm can come up from nowhere when its that hot and muggy.

I've had my laptop for 2 years and only realized now that I can adjust the size of the screen. Shows how observant I am...."NOT" :rolleyes:

This is a big help to me as I haven't gotten my new glasses yet, and it's hard to read certain posts that aren't written in paragraph form or in light print.

Hope all goes well for you in your new school year.

We go back on Thursday the 3rd of September but we have 2 inset days on Thursday and Friday and then the kids start back on Monday the 7th. That gives me 2 days to find my way around and get to know some of the staff. (I'm starting at a new school) So it's kinda exciting and kinda scary. I thought I might take some biscuits or sweeties in on the 3rd with a 'Hi, I'm new' card and leave it in the staff room for folks to enjoy as we're all now 'back at work'. Whaddaya think? Too pushy?

I take it that it's a small school? We've got probably 2 dozen new teachers this year, but we also have a lounge in almost every wing. I think if I walked in a lounge and saw such a card and goodies I would definitely not take it as being too pushy. I don't recommend hand-delivered individualized tins with a photo attached, however.

I finally had an appointment today at 3 pm to sign off on house stuff....arrived for appt at 2:30. This sh*t with my home has been going on since April, and I have been an absolute basketcase for almost 5 months.........haven't slept well, taken a holiday or day off, cry every damn night with worry.....yada...yada....

Well, your woman that I had the appointment with didn't arrive until after 5 pm. You'd be proud of me...didn't lose my cool...I do have an unholy quick temper......I'm just happy it's been settled.

Now the weight of the world is off my shoulders. Everything went well. Things are still difficult but manageable now.

Think that tomorrow I'll go to my favorite Irish pub for a late lunch and have some champagne and yummy food:-6:D

Most of the people who come to the Jersey shore are from NYC and Philly.

The owner of the pub is John's father. John does own a brekke place nearby that I didn't even know existed. I'll check it out tomorrow. I just can't remember the name of John's father....

I haven't really met the owner of the pub or his family as they keep a low profile. But, they've been pointed out to me a few times.

I'm absolutely jacked and would love to just sit outside in a bit and have a little tipper, sweet cigar and a glass of pinot noir...and just look up at the sky. I've had such a bad time since April, and now I'm at peace..I can't believe how 'destressed' I feel right now.'

I don't plan on going into work tomorrow, but really need to organize my lesson plans, etc during the next few days.

I'm going to take a long bath tomorrow morning with lots of soothing oils and your fabulous soaps:-6:p and then I'm finally going to the beach and end up at Klees for a late lunch:p

I'm watching this bizzarro show called 1,000 ways to die on channel Spike:wah:...a clown who grew up being afraid of clowns becomes a clown & an alcholic at the same time, puts an inflatable balloon into his car...comes to a complete stop, the helium for the balloon hits the ballloon & of course the balloon starts to fill up...it engulfed him. Can't imagine dying that way.
