The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

I expect the results are biased in that Americans fill in polls a lot more readily than the subjects of Her Majesty do.

That was a very clever sentence designed to wind up the posters of three continents in one go and I stopped short of "ex-colonies".

Speaking of which - Kathy Ellen, can you explain to me what the United States Commonwealth is? I've often wondered and never quite understood why it exists.

It's not so funny on paper, is it. In a pub after a few pints it works far better.

Have you ever heard it before?

It IS lovely isn't it?

The first picture is taken along the Military Road as you head towards Freshwater Bay from Chale (see map). Beautiful, but prone to erosion.

The second picture is of the tiny village of Godshill (pronounced God's Hill). This picture is of All Saints church. built during the reign of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) and largely rebuilt during the fourteeth century. It's a beautiful village and has a miniature village of Godshill within it. It's funny to see the miniature church with a miniature wedding party processing out of its doors and then look up and see exactly the same church on the hill in front of you, but so much larger!

The primary school my horde went to always sent the whole of their final year to the Isle of Wight for their going-away week the Easter before they left. It was a high point each time. Some child or other was always sick on the coach too.

I lived in London for 10 years and the Primary School my kids went to also sent their Year 6 kids to the Isle of Wight for a final trip. Bit of a busman's holiday really! :wah: The kids loved it but we moved back dahn Sarf before my kids were in Year 6 so they missed out on that one! :wah:

Have you been off scientisting again?

Dr galbladder comes from a very very tiny green place in the English sea. There's not many of them and they are all bonkers due to be out of Gordon Brown's jurisdiction. That's there own fault.

I'm not saying where i am incase the police are logged on. :yh_rotfl
