Have you heard about ghd's Iron Exchange? You can take your old non-ghd straightners and curling tongs into salons and get a discount on a ghd styling iron, definitely worth doing as their irons are amazing.

I have a pair of remington ceramic straightners, had them about 4-5 years and only paid 35 pounds for them from argos....
