Salad

Post by Sheryl »

What's your favorite ingredients to put in a salad. Are you a simple person with just tomato and lettuce, or do you go all out?

I fixed me a salad today for lunch. It had spinach leaves, tomatoes, bacon bits (real not imitation) chopped chicken and thousand island dressing. It's yummy!

I put everything (way too much) in my salads!!! (And even would put the kitchen sink if I could :wah:) I drive my wife crazy, it takes me at least 25 minutes to prepare the salad just the way I like it! ;)

green leaf, red lead, & iceberg lettuce

chicken slices

grape tomatoes

mini cucumber slices

chi-chi peas

hard boiled egg slices

pickled beets

bacon bits

swiss cheese strips

American cheese strips

sliced almonds

seasoned crutons

cottage cheese blobs

crumpled feta cheese chucks

ham chunks

lima beans

manderin oranges slices

grated parmasian cheese

all that, covered with a blended asian sesame, ceasar, ranch dressing I mix together myself-it's great!!!

(PS: edited; don't like peppers, spinich, onions, olives)

I could eat this every day (and do)-------mixed greens, tomato, celery, green bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, balsamic vinegar & olive oil.

It depends what i fancy at the time, but my fave is either chicken and bacon with honey and mustard dressing, usually chucking in everything I can find, or tuna and tomato. Everything has to have peppers in though!

I love a simple romaine salad on the side with my dinner....if there's no romaine then I enjoy Boston greens with homemade croutons, black olives, walnuts, peppers, brocolli, cheeze and good extra virgin olive oil and rice vinegal...oh and some fruit...like a few berries or black, seedless grapes.

btw Sheryl....how's your wine tasting going:-6?

for dinner it's usually:

lettuce, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and maybe red peppers.

for lunch I like to have what I call my bowl of goodness: :D

tuna or salmon, lettuce, shredded cabbage, onion, garlic, jalapeno, tomatoes, and beans or beets or soy chunks if I have them. :-6

but I LOVE veggies, I'll eat any kind of salad! :D
