What's his favorite kind of cake? Get a recipe for it. Buy the ingredients you need, get out your cake pans, mixing bowl, measuring tools, and mixer, and just follow the recipe. Preheat your oven beforehand, and let the cake cool before you ice it.

I'm a terrible cook so can't help but I'm sure we have some fine laies who are wonderful in the kitchen.

To cook is to:

* prepare a hot meal; "My husband doesn't cook"

* prepare for eating by applying heat; "Cook me dinner, please";

* transform and make suitable for consumption by heating; "These potatoes have to cook for 20 minutes"

* someone who cooks food
