Favorite Dog Toys?

Post by ksd75 »

Hannah is obsessed with the Cuz toys. She has a dozen or so of them...they're all over the place.

Corvus is obsessed with Tennis Balls. Like, needing psychiatric help obsessed. :-3

Some runner up toys include the kong, soccer balls, rope toys...oh and the Planet Dog toys. Those are a HUGE hit here.

Howzabout your doggies? What toy can't they live without?

:wah: I have no idea. I've bought them toys, but Blue our red heeler prefers to play with my son, Bodee my Wiem prefers to play and jump on the trampoline, and Freckles, the border collie, he likes to play with his tennis balls. Most folks are shocked to pull up to my drive, and see a 85 lb dog come bouncing off the trampoline to greet them at the fence. :wah:

I used to have a red heeler. His favorite toy was our pants legs. :-2

My last dane used to love jumping (or flailing about, whichever) on the trampoline. We had to break that habit though because she'd get so excited when I'd go up in the air that she'd try to pull me back down. With her teeth. Ouch.

Bodee just likes to chase the kids around the trampoline, thank goodness I bought one that has the net enclosure. :D

Oh yes my son has had more than one pair of pants or shirts that get ripped from playing with the heeler.

Just a head's up re: the tennis balls... the glue in them can erode the

enamel in your dog's teeth. I wouldn't use them, myself unless you

can buy the kind made especially for pets, and even then, depending

on the size of your dog, there is a choking hazard.

Kongs are very good, or if you do want a ball get one of those hard

rubber ones with a hole in both ends, then if your dog does get it

stuck, it has an airway.

Thanks for the heads up. He doesn't chew them, just likes to retrieve them and pat them around with his paws. I'm not terribly worried about him choking as he has a fairly small mouth and the tennis ball is plenty big compared to his throat.

He has a kong, but it just doesn't hold the same fascination for him.

I bought one of those kongs for my dogs, none of them like it. Even stuffed it with peanut butter.

The tennis balls for Freckles are ones I bought at Pet Smart, not real ones. And they are just right for him. Have an oversized one we use to play fetch with Bodee with, but he doesn't like to play ball. :wah:

Is that the knobby battery operated ball or the ball that "giggles" when you roll it? I can't keep up with all the catchy names. :wah:

Wiggly Giggly

Hours of fun and enjoyment LOL... and you might have to pick them

up at night so you aren't driven to distraction.

My old girl Tamsen NEVER played with her toys at night... shhhhhh!

(Her choice, not mine!)

Ah, okay, I have one of those. They crushed all the little "gigglers' in it though, lol.

I also had the jack shaped giggler. That lasted about 2 minutes.

Luckily mine sleep through the night too. But day time is Cuz time and you should hear the symphony of Cuz squeaks throughout the day. :-2

Oh, all different kinds....

She has the original good and bad cuzzes, then the new "Other" good and bad cuzzes (Have you seen those?? They modified the feet and it's wierd. Plus now they have eyes!)

Her favorites though are the dino Cuzzes...she loveeeees the tails!
