Cherokee Rod Run 2008

Post by along-for-the-ride »

Hubby and I just returned from our weekend get-away in the mountains. Sunday morning we were amongst these four-wheeled beauties on display. Many would be riding the roads during the weekend. We took some pictures and below are only a few. Some of you may be able to name the model, the make. and the year. Enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed the pics, cars.:)

Do you go to any car shows in your area? Below is a pic of me that hubby took at the Rod Run. This car was manufactured the year of my birth..........1950. That's why I wanted a pic taken by it. I tried to look tuff. :wah:

Yep we do AFTR, we try to go to the "few" only small shows they have in our area. The last "big" one I saw was at the Mohegan Sun casino about 6 months ago, on their upper deck, open massive parking lot! There were well over 350 cars, it was just great!!! And me, I didn't have my camera, as I didn't know they were having an oldies car show! We went to the casino, & the cars show was an extra added bonus!

I was looking for a old receipt I needed, & came across my 56 Buick Roadmaster Convertable!!! It was Red & White, with red/white leather interior! I added the "Continental Wheel Kit" on this car also! "Spinners" & "rear view mirrors" mounted on the front fenders was the rage back then! Along with also "lowering" the rear end of the car 3 to 4 inches!

It was some kind of car alright, it rode like being on a cloud! But it was nasty on gas, at 10 to 12 mpg! But back then, gas was at around 18cents or so a gallon, so it was still ok! :-2
