The display is easy, with IMG tags. The thing that isn't there is an upload which gives you a link to tag.

If you upload it to, for example, imgur, that gives a link to IMG with, it takes no password and it's meant to be permanent.

Or we could try https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2407621

OK, the externally hosted image works :-)

The dev extension works in phpBB3.3, it's been worked on for three years, still being modified but it looks stable and functional. A change last December broke previous links when a subfolder was introduced to allow finer permissions granularity.

I can't find a better one though.

Are we sufficiently up and online to try extensions?

Your call - you're busy enough as it is so it's not a priority.

That works, thank you :-)

For future reference the limits on embedded images are 2Mb and 800px wide

which is actually pretty good, I thought. He's from New Orleans.

I just posted the YouTube link, the conversion to embedded media code was automatic.

I turned off the 800px limit, you might like to put it back if you prefer. The browser code is reactive, the picture shrinks as the window gets smaller.

If, when you've tried this out, you decide that you don't want your images to be shown at the top of the board index / forum list then you can switch this off by going into the User Control Panel > Board Preferences and change the last option at the bottom of the page.

The desktops look prettier but this laptop has seen better days - I'd update but it's already at its maximum.

Set permission for groups, default only admin group can upload images.

You're safer at permissions than I am.

That should be done now - I left the newly registered but everyone from registered up is set up.

An image consisting of four blue figures with white hats and sunglasses who are clapping under which you've written that it didn't work as designed.

Yep. That should have been a moving image.
I think I know what the problem is.
it should have been a .GIF

That's a clean sweep of mod testing then. And you wiped all the EXIF data too!
