Haven't read her more recent ones, apparently she has gotten more religious.

Definitely with you on the Hesse - The Glass Bead Game has to be up there with the best.

Roger Zlazney

Anne McCaffrey

Edgar Pangbourn

Lloyd Biggles Jr

Robert Silverberg

Prachett every time one comes out.

I tried Terry Goodkind and thoroughly enjoyed the Wizards First Second and Third Rules but lost it as the series went on.

One I forgot to list, and one of the best, is David Brin - well worth looking up.

I've got a lot :p, but here's my TOP five favourites:

Dan Brown (Digital Fortress, Deception Point, Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons.)

Anne Rice (I just LOVE the vampire novels!)

J.K. Rowling (Everyone knows what SHE wrote :))

Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl, but I only liked the first four.)

Franklin W. Dixon (The Hardy Boys. I prefer the originals and the Case Files though.)
