It is a great book, I hope you like it minks. It was the only decent novel for 3 months during summer of '05.

I had major problems with it. I very rarely give up on a book - maybe one in fifty - but that one I gave up on after around 5 chapters. I'm sure the problem was me and not the book, there's so many other readers who've enjoyed it. I get the same reaction to Dorothy Dunnett and (sadly, and again it's down to my inability to read him) Richard Hough, to name but two authors.

No, I haven't. I would NEVER read a book like that.

I only read Dr. Seuss and Curious George books.

No, it's because I am not a very good reader. Don't BUST MY CHOPS! You are going to hurt the feelings of other Dr. Seuss and Curious George readers. Minks, can you please defend me on principle here? Thank you.

I really enjoyed the book. I would read it again, and I don't rer-ead books.

How you finished the book yet, Minks? Which explanation do you lean toward?

to be honest I can't seem to put my finger on why I liked it... beyond the fact that "Pi" used a lot of common sense.... that appeals to me
