The novel Gone With The Wind was published. It sold for $3, which
would be about $43 today. It was on the bestseller lists for almost 2 years.
Worldwide, about 350,000 copies are still sold every year.
Makes me want to read it again, I do every few years. I've seen the
movie a few times, too, every so often there's either a re-release or
a retrospective thingy and you can go see it in a real theater.

Does anyone remember what things this book said were the mark of a southern lady? I remember one was raising chickens. Didn't seem real ladylike to me...................

I love the movie GWTW, watch it nearly everytime it's on tv. I have the dvd now, so just watch in when I'm in the mood.
I read the sequel a few years back. It was definatley different that GWTW.

Well fiddle-dee-dee, that is cool to remember Miss Scarlet! It is a great novel, always hated the "sequel" to it. Teh original is the one and only!
