I've got my mind set on making a nice terrarium for the living room table. Here is an easy step by step video on how to make one. :)

We have a huge one and its awesome, and the cats cannot get at it!:sneaky:

It's completely enclosed.

purposely planted sun loving plants, so it sits on the bay window in the sun, looks really stunning!

mine is octanular shaped..............I liked the enclosed one mainly because of our cats.........but you can by all means set one up that is not.

I have moss in mine, on top of the plant soil, it keeps the moisture in, also have 2 small cacti with colourful tops, small colourful little tiny rocks and shells that I purchased from Birds Unlimited, they have those in small quantitys..............

then I found a little tropical looking parrot that looks real, he is perched up amonst a plant.......everything adds much colour, all depends on how you want to look, and when some of the plants get to tall, I cut them back and they re-grow.

looks bright and colourful.

I want one.

Remember they were a big "must have" in the '70's..

RED - still decorating with the '70's theme.?

I love terrariums - and I always over water.

Question - When there's alot of moisture in the Terrarium do you take the lid off or open the terrarium up as much as possible? or keep your fingers crossed..?

Oh Red...I will have to come back to this when I have time..... I used to have fish tanks when I taught the 6th grade. I bought all of the stuff and the kids took care of it. My 3rd graders are too young to set it up and take care of it. I would love to have something easy....peasy like this...

THANKS:-4

when to much moisture builds up, you can see it on the inside...........take the lid off for awhile.

you can also take out the multch/moss, that also adds moisture.
