What really made Mary Ingalls go blind?

Post by tabby »

I thought this was an interesting article! I wonder if Mary's sight could have been saved with today's medical knowledge.

I became an instant Laura Ingalls Wilder fan after receiving a copy of "Little House in the Big Woods" for Christmas one year. I was smitten and was so eager to read the entire series as did millions of other young girls. I never watched the television series but I can't imagine that it could hold the same magic as the books, no matter how handsome Michael Landon was! I personally hold Laura directly responsible for my living in a house in our own "big woods" today.

For those of you who are parents or teachers, do you know if these books are as popular today? I hope so!
