Backlash For Drop In Antidepressant Sales?

Post by koan »

Canadian papers say that parents reacted fearfully to warnings about overmedicating children for psychological problems and proceed to try and scare parents into putting their kids back on antidepressants with news that there was a 25% rise in teen suicide in Manitoba.

While the article both admits the study is very small in scope and that suicide is rare so it's hard to get the sample numbers they need, additionally say that parents should never panic and take kids off meds. I suppose it's ok to panic and put them *on* meds though... :-5

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"
