On January 27, 1967, Apollo 1's crew--Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Edward H. White II and Roger B. Chaffee were killed in a launchpad fire. 40 years ago tomorrow.

My Dad was a pilot in 1961....he flew for the Army - as a Ranger. He never got his name anywhere but on his grave stone.
