REST IN PEACE, EDDIE ALBERT

Grren Acres Theme Song

Green acres is the place to be

Farm living is the life for me

Land spreading out,

so far and wide

Keep Manhattan

just give me that countryside.

New York

is where I'd rather stay

I get allergic smelling hay

I just adore a penthouse view

Darling, I love you,

but give me Park Avenue.

The Chores

The Stores

Fresh air

Times Square

You are my wife. Goodbye city life.

Green Acres, we are there!

Memories of my childhood - gotta love it.

Actually farmers have a very rough life. Did you know that supper is the noon meal farmers eat? It is usually the big meal of the day. It is eaten about noon - 6 to 7 hours after breakfast. Dinner is the night meal and usually a little lighter. FYI

Ninety Seven, perhaps. And I remember watching it at the time, yes. Eddie Albert played the prison governor in The Longest Yard too, which was a perfect part for him, akin to casting Henry Fonda in Once Upon A Time In The West, it was such a wild role reversal.

I had a quick look on IMDB and it's full of good stuff I never knew, like "A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Eddie Albert was a circus trapeze flier before becoming a stage and radio actor".

About 20 miles west of Pixley is Porterville, which may have inspired the name "Hooterville." There is a town called Green Acres just west of Bakersfield. The contractor who built our house talks just like Mr. Haney. When we moved here, my wife and I frequently sang the theme song to "Green Acres."

So long Eddie!

I liked the bumbling carpenters that were perenially fixing up the house.

(Jives sighs wistfully)
