I don't know if any one has done this yet, but...

What are your Top5 movies of ALL TIME??

I'll go first.

5) Ten Commandments

4) Godfather I

3) Casa Blanca

2) StarWars IV, a New Hope

1) American HistoryX

But you could also do your own, personal favorites too. Or you can break it down into Genres: Top5 Horror, Top5 ChickFlicks, etc.

I'm a movie freak. When I was doing chemo I subscribed to ALL the movie channels. I think I'd have to break it down by classification ie: musicals, dramas, comedies, sci-fi, you get my drift. Or I'd have to base it on movies I could watch 20 times and still catch something I hadn't seen before. Therefore, I abstain.

I find it really hard to do a top 5 as there are about 50 films I think are REALLY great but these just about edge out the others

5 Duck Soup

4 A Night at the Opera

3 The Great Dictator

2 It`s a Wonderful Life!

there's a site where you can 'publish' your top list, and they generate a lot of stats from it. i signed up years ago, but my list remains pretty much the same today. of the twenty listed, the top five are

5. 2001, A Space Odyssey

4. Smultronstället (Wild Strawberries)

3. Dr. Strangelove, or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Bomb

2. Himmel über Berlin (Wings of Desire)

1. Lawrence of Arabia

but as others, i can hardly say that one is 'better' than another. the same for the other fifteen on my top 20 list. each has its own flavor, it's like saying chocolate truffles are 'better than' sesame beef.
