I haven't watched in about 10 years. I may sneek a peek just so I can see if Chris Rock will misbehave - or NOT!

I've always watched becasue of who was hosting, in this case, Chris Rock. He should be a hoot. Billy Crystal was pretty good too. The actual awards, the clothes----------Blagh!!!!

yeah LON ,easy for you to say, you're not a WOMAN who has to wear a man's uniform all the time with 45 pounds of gear, a crushing & squashing kevlar vest, and combat boots! :p

Surely you don't wear all that gear when you watch the Awards. Or do you?

I always watch... since I was a little girl! Mom used to make us a big batch

of popcorn in the old pressure cooker, (no lid 'cause it exploded one time

with chicken all over EVERYWHERE!) pie tin on top. We kids knew we had to

be really quiet. And the actresses in their long gowns were mesmerizing.

Then starting almost 20 years ago, I quite frequently knew or worked

with people who were nominated or won. Made it more exciting. Now

it's a little sad since I haven't worked in the business for so long. But

there are still a couple of names this year of people I used to work with.

One, Randy Thom, is up for Best Sound and Best Sound Editing. One year,

he was nominated more times in one year than anyone else ever!

The only thing I don't like about the show is the way they cut off "the

little people" but a Halle Berry gets to go over her time. Sorry, but

anyone who gets a little gold guy in their hand should get to speak.

Yeah, the show will run even longer but so what? Those people worked

at least as hard as the actors, if not more so!

Andrew Harrison wrote: The Oscars-please God NOT The Aviator for best film! Leonardo De Caprio as Howard Hughes? I dont think so.
I heard that was a fantastic movie and Leo did a great job...But then I haven't seen it, so can't say either way. Exactly what did you not like about Leo in this role, Andrew?

And by the way: Welcome to FG!!! :yh_peace
