Unfortunate Events

We took the granddaughter to see A Series of Unfortunate Events this afternoon. Funny thing is, hubby and I liked it, but g-d didn't so much. She has read the books (she's 14) and thought they were better. (I''m glad for that) The movie moved very fast, and Jim Carrey wasn't a total dunce ( I'm not a Carrey fan). I can't vouch for how they followed the books (It was the first three books) but made a good movie, BUT..I did come away slightly waiting for more..and I'm sure there will be more. There was no serious ending..just a pause so to speak.

While there we saw a few minutes of the New Chocolate factory..It WILL be different. Can't pass judgement of course on better or worse, but definitely different..Johnny Depp will be a rather villainous Willy Wonka, I'm afraind.
