"Catch me if you can" is really good. From what I remember of it, "Traffic" is pretty good. Anything with Benicio Del Toro is usually good.

If you can leave Ocean 12 on a bus, or in a pub, instead of watching it, your life will be that bit improved. I can't remember ever seeing a film less competently plotted and executed.

2. Catch me if you can.......excellent film

6. House of flying Daggers.......brilliant special effects.....sit where your surround sound is at it's best.....you get used to the sub-titles after a while :D (We use one of the scenes from this film as a 7 speaker surround sound demo here at B&W)

I haven't seen the rest unfortunately. xxx

Memoirs of a Geisha is well worth watching. Some have found it slow-paced, and it is, but that's the intended atmosphere and it worked well as an invocation of the rather strange lifestyle it portrayed. The photography is worth the price, irrespective of the excellent plot. How well it comes over on a small screen I'm not sure. The large screen experience, together with the shared empathy of a large involved audience, makes a big difference to the feel of this storytelling format.

This King Kong would - unlike Fay Wray's - annoy me, I'm certain.

i really enjoyed "geisha", such interesting cultural differences. i wasn't annoyed at it being slow-moving, i was annoyed at it being 97% in the dark. as for king kong...pure fun camp.

If anyone can find "Rush" on DVD, get it. Stars Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Two cops infiltrate a drug ring in a small town by pretending to be dealers and users themselves. Very intense, and also has Sam Elliot and the main "bad guy" is Greg Allman. I don't think he speaks a single word in the entire film, though. Great flick, AWESOME ending.

Title was Post-Production Audio Technician. Basically I sat around in a

big room with all kinds of stuff on big machines that look like huge tape

recorders on their sides. Called "dubbers" usually. And sometimes I was

in a room where the master recording was being made, and set-up that

machine and a projector, for the mixers to mix to. (I know I set up the

master on movies like Terminator 2, but I'm not sure where I worked

for Rush!!)

Sam Elliot... heavy sigh...

David Lynch's "Lost Highway", in which Bill Pullman and Balthazar Getty interact with at least one Patricia Arquette and probably only one Robert Blake in a non-linear timeline. I think I need to watch it again, after which a discussion on FG with spoiler warnings might help. This is my first David Lynch movie so I need assistance.

You'll love it. Can Tom Hanks make a bad film? Not bloody likely.

3. Ocean 12

First half = Great! Second half = "what the heck happened?"

4. Traffic

Thought provoking, exciting, and brutally depressing.

6. House of flying Daggers

Not as good as "Hero"

7. Tears of the Sun

Nice try, Bruce. Forgettable.

Here's a couple that you really need to see:

"Lord of War" - knocked me on my butt. I never saw this one coming, right to the surprising ending. A movie that I can't predict is a rarity.

"4 Brothers" - Tough as Nails whodunnit / revenge flick

"History of Violence" - Is he? Or isn't he? Yet another surprising and awesome movie.

Absolutely hilarious Aussie film: "Garage Days" a garage band tries to make it big, if only they weren't dating each other and all dysfunctional.
