Anyone using SPY or ES as primary trading or investing vehicles?

I haven't used SPY but have something in VFINX which is similar. As I recall, I also have something in a NASDAQ index etf.

Half, do you use it for day trading or investments? I've use Firstrade for years, but we're shopping around.

Oops! I thought you were referring to the SPDR S&P 500 ETF whose stock symbol is SPY. Sorry 'bout the misunderstanding.

SPY for long term and ES for short term swings and hedges. I use interactive brokers.

It is the ETF SPY. I trade (long term) the ETF and not options as many do.

I have some holdings in VFINX - Vanguard's S&P 500 index fund, and QQQ - a NASDAQ index ETF, both for long term. I've had them for years now. I don't make many short term plays these days. When I do, it is usually a tech IPO that I flip.
