That's quite remarkable - talk about Spain, and everybody automatically has visions of ten-ton Tommies rolling in fat, discarded beer cans, and everything that goes with the holiday industry. Obviously there are vast areas of unspoilt Spain which, thankfully, the tourist haven't found.

What stunning pictures Soberano. Thanks for sharing them.

Beautiful scenery, & peacfull looking too. But it still pales compared to seeing the scenery of loved ones & or good friends. I feel for you, and also for your wife, it's a difficult situation to have to deal with.
Also welcome to the Garden, nice to meet you S.

Soberano, where is your village located?
We spent 6.5 years in Spain, in the Rota/Fuente Bravia area, in Cadiz province. Our house in Fuente was three blocks from the bay of Cadiz.
We spent a lot of time in Jerez, and visited the salt fields of Cadiz as well. The sunflower fields all around were so pretty! We would take day trips to Gibraltar, and Portugal. We bought tons of ceramics in Conil, and visited the Chiclana doll factory. (I've a nice collection of the Flamenco dolls.)
Mostly, we bought mud dolls, as all our friends here loved them! I wish I could find an address for them there.
We miss it, and Sicily, where we lived for three years. Unfortunately, I've no photos of where we were.:-1

Nice to meet you. Did you just love Portugal and Gibralta:-4 We stayed in the Algarve for 3 weeks and then ventured across the southern part of Spain looking at all the sunflowers. I too left behind visual beauty. Actually its more personal than that. Your surroundings can evoke well being and peace to your life. Im forced to consider I was once lucky enough to have had a unique experience. That works in my head.

Soberano, I for one, would love to see more photos if you want to post them. I didn't even know what Spain looked like except for a few travel brochures. Your pictures are far prettier.
