Livestock salt for weed killer?

Post by jmany01 »

I am having a major problems with weeds in a parking lot. The parking lot is not all paved, it is mostly gravel. As of now i am weedwacking the lot about once every three weeks to fix the problem. I read earlier in another thread about livestock salt and am interested in using it. I was wandering what exactly it is and where can i get it. I looked online for it and all i found out was salt bricks for feeding farm animals. Is this it? Is there a certain type of it I should get? Are there any other suggestions for permanent weed killing?

round up and weed be gone are for that purpose. why spend money on livestock salt when its for licking not killing weeds? re-grade the area and top dress it with stone dust material. it packs permanetly and looks beautiful for awhile? :)

I'd avoid the salt in any case on a parking lot, it's very corrosive to

anything that comes across it, like shoes or animals feet or the entire

bottoms of cars!

If you type `weed killer` or something similar in the `search` facility on this page, you should be guided to my earlier question about this , where I received some very helpful answers. Good luck!
