The garden design of Mediterranean-Gardens is one of the most popular through out the world. It’s very much found in hedonistic atmosphere in countries like Italy, Spain, Greece or southern France.

The Mediterranean style has an appealing design trend, characterized by contrasting earthy hues and bright colors. The typical Mediterranean climate generally has dry summers and wet winters. For this reason it’s very important to choose right plants which can work well in these conditions.

While thinking of Mediterranean gardens, our mind conjures the images of sun baked courtyards, blue skies, and long lunches under vine covered pergolas. The key ingredients in every good Mediterranean garden design are the warmth, light, relaxation and simplicity.

There can be different features of a Mediterranean garden, but the one thing that it doesn’t include is modern components. The main landscape materials are like concrete, stone and ceramics. These are durable and used in abundance. The timber and metal is rarely used. Timber is usually used for constructing pergolas. There are also uses of plastics.

Sorry - am I missing the point - aren't concrete and plastics modern materials? And I have seen glass used a lot in Med gardens as well
