Help needed on Hibiscus plant

Post by jana fraser »

For Mother's Day my girls bought me a beautiful Hibiscus plant that I've kept outside til now. With the cool temperatures here from now til um May again I needed to bring it inside but it has some sort of a spider mite on it. I have sprayed it, washed it and changed the soil but am still hesitant about bringing it into the house . Wish I had a little solarium about now!

A friend told me I could cut it down , store the roots like you would dahlias in a dark spot over the winter and replant outside next spring. I can't find anything of the sort in the net, only that it should be brought in when it gets below 50 degrees fahrenheit and kept in a warm place and sunny window.

Anyone have anything further? It is such a beautiful plant, with a peach coloured flower that has bloomed on and off ever since the girls gave it to me.
