It's about pawning (selling) items to a pawn broker, that folks hold onto for years to get money for them when they no longer what the stuff. I find the program interesting but it doesn't hold my wifes interest.

I've done that, wish I would have taped the show now, it would have been interesting to see how much each one would receive and what kind of items they were selling.

was it like the show, 'Antique Road Show" or just stuff they have collected but not really any value?

Here Odie, check Pawn Stars out:

Pawn Stars — History.com TV Episodes, Schedule, & Video

Stuff that the pawn shop buys has value so they can sell it. From cars, motorcycles, boats, jewelry, antique guns, etc. Pretty cool items.

no worries as I had read that Jessi Cardoso was going to be killed.:-5

Oh I`m so glad you liked them both, have you seen two and a half men before, as I just love that kid!:yh_rotfl

His sayings are unreal and the way he re-acts & what he says when they`re talking about sex as he has no idea what is!:wah:

and the maid:yh_rotfl

and that bat of a mother they have!:yh_rotfl

Have you seen Charlie`s shrink.......omg she is also hilarious.

She played a sex theraphist on Boston Legal.

I like Mike`s partner, he is just hilarious!:wah:

and I know I know Mike from somewhere.......just can`t remember, and he is also hilarious.:wah:

I just watched CSI Miami -O M G...it was one of the best episodes!:guitarist

It was sad to see Eric with Cally in the first few minutes of the show, as she's known for breathing problems, I wasn't sure what was going to happen to her, then to see Natalia bent over Jessi.....

The killer inside the jail reminded me a bit like Hannibal Lector.

The whole entiretity of it was extremely well planned out right up to his girlfriend faking the rifle set-up.

One thing I didn't understand was why Frank had the killer in his car and how did the killer know the precise timing he would be there...

I cried at the end watching Cally saying goodbye over Jessi's body and Walter at the basketball court by himself, then watching the rest of the team join him.:guitarist

yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:guitarist

I just happened to see the show last night. It had a few chuckles, and I might tune in again. It's hard to say, because these kind of sitcoms depend on getting to know the characters, which takes a few episodes at least.

There was something about the show that I found a little depressing though -- specifically how fat these people are! I know the intentions are to make the characters realistic, so then I'm wondering if this is what the average American looks like today! 300 lbs. or more...over 50% body fat ratio...almost certainly type 2 diabetic, and headed for heart disease or a stroke...and if not that, people who are that overweight start having trouble walking in their 50's and end up needing mobility aids to get around.

Is this the average North American? No wonder health care costs are skyrocketing! Hate to be a downer, but this kind of reality -- celebrating obesity, is sending the wrong message to an aging society that really needs to come to terms with unhealthy lifestyles.

You need to watch the show from its beginning as its brand new this season and has had around 5 so far, that way you get to know who people are and what's going on.

Mike has always been a big actor weight wise, have you never seen him before on other comedies or movies? He's a great actor & that's what counts.

so what if they are both big? Some people are big, it doesn't alway mean they eat to much....and if they do, who cares?

Actually its refresing from seeing everyone else on t.v that are strickly there to strut their stuff & who are underweight.

and why on god's green earth would you just assume that is the average American when you have only seen one episode?

and.....its just a show.

When I first starting watching this show, I was wondering how soon some people would say that this show exploits obese people. After watching a few more episodes, I have to say it doesn't. I don't see it as celebrating obesity. It does provide an insight to an obese persons struggle to loose some weight and that they too can persue companionship and love.

Okay, I wasn't intending to cause a riot here, or offend fans of the show! And I know it's hard for people who are seriously overweight to lose weight. I don't mock people who have these problems because we are finding out now how much of our modern world is causing obesity. The food today is certainly a big factor; and many people work longer and longer hours and have little time or money for exercise. But one that hasn't been factored in until very recently, is that people are getting fewer hours of sleep and feeling more stress and anxiety during their daily lives. Both factors lower metabolism, decrease the desire or even capacity to exercise, and motivate people towards craving high sugar and high calorie foods. So, this is a big problem that requires a holistic approach to life, and not just going on a diet! And the lower someone is on the economic ladder, the less ability they have to make those lifestyle changes.

All that said, I hope the solution isn't an attempt to normalize obesity. We are seeing this in our daily lives: larger portions in restaurants; larger seats in stadiums and on airplanes, larger clothing sizes (I used to wear medium t-shirts and shorts, now I take small men's even though I've gained 20 lbs since I was in my 20's). So, everything is being made bigger for a bigger population, and I wonder if our entertainment culture is adapting to this reality also.
