I could clearly hear my girlfriend's Minnesota accent in the Northern Male accent, but not in the Northern Female.

apart from more of a stress on some "ars" and "ees" it all sounded the same to me.

I missed three.

Got the south Mid Atlantic and New England

Crossed up one each of the other three regions.

They all sound the same to me just as I suppose scots accents all sound the same to an american.

nawh sweet wain. The glaswegions sound very different. there were some I could understand in your sweet land and those I had to get a translator for. Keehan seemed to understand everybody though.

I think I've mentioned this before sometime long ago. Our accents came from the children of the convicts and first settlers (no early formal language schooling). mixed and matched, dropped all the 'r's and 'oo's and awh's . That's why it is easier for an Australian to mimic another accent because we don't have to physically drop anything ...we just add to it. Much easier. Linguistically it's harder to drop an accent than add to it.

and if my youngest doesn't stop saying "Yes'em" like an American southerner. I'll crack him over the skull:yh_rotfl

I had no idea I had an accent until Shel told me!

and I had no idea she had one until I talked to her, and I love her accent, its unique and quite different.
Life is just to short for drama.

Odie your Canadian, I bet you have a thicker accent than Americans.:wah:

I had an english teacher in high school that was Canadian ................it's okay though cause we eventually taught her English.:wah::wah::wah:

I was able to get only 4 correct, though I think I would have done better with one or two more sentences from each speaker.
