now i,ve no time for layabout students but the courts made an example of one student rioter.

A STUDENT rioter who hurled a fire extinguisher at cops from the roof of Tory HQ was jailed yesterday.

As Edward Woollard, 18, was sentenced to two years and eight months, his mum Tania - who persuaded him to give himself up - burst into tears.

Woollard was lucky not to have killed anyone after dropping the extinguisher on police lines from seven storeys during the tuition fees riots in London.

the courts should now make an example of all the other student rioters who caused havock in the capital.

what a prize fool woolard is he,s not only got a criminal conviction but he,s stuffed his future as well and he,s now got 16 months to reflect on his foolish actions.

woolard lives in dibden pirileu an afluent area of hampshire so no doubt mummy and daddy could afford the fees where there are lots of underprivalaged 6 formers missing out because they and their parents cannot afford to send them to university.

peacefull protest is a right open to anyone but the actions of woolard and his layabout student cohorts is unaceptable in a civilised society.

this could so easily have been a tragedy with woolard looking at life so he should count himself lucky that he got the sentence he did.

at least he can finish his education in prison over the next 16 months

and the courts could send some of the other rioters down to keep him company.
