Palaeo (UK spelling) means Ancient; an 'ology' is a study of; and anthropology is a study of humans - of their origin and development.

Palaeoanthropology.

Words are easy to understand when you break them down.

By the way, I studied Palaeoclimatology at Uni, that's an easier one for you to work out.
