I didnt know if If I should post this in Bizarre News Stories or Conspiracy Theories.

111 Republicans who have been refusing to participate in well, doing their jobs by taking a non participatory stance on anything that shoots down the pipe from the White House have been crying America is becoming Socialist ! This administration will bankrupt not only our economy but our values and corrupt the Constitution.

These are the same bobble heads that while at home in front of their Congressional constituents have been personally taking credit for bringing "GREEN" jobs home among other industries by accepting stimulus money, even asking for it for home grown projects and pork barrell spending. Same guys who back in DC cry foul for wasteful spending and vowing conservative fiscalism.

Theyve been outed as hypocrites thanks required in large part to Rachel Maddow of MSNBC. How can these two faced career politicians be trusted to negotiate in earnest on health reform? Why should they be included? Which face is speaking the truth?

By John Aloysius Farrell, Thomas Jefferson Street blog

According to this morning's exposé in the Washington Times, those very same Republican members of Congress who publicly condemned the 2009 stimulus--insisting to us all that it would neither stimulate the economy nor create jobs--privately believed just the opposite. These GOP representatives and senators were so sure that the stimulus bill would be effective, in fact, that they could not get to their desks fast enough to start peppering the federal government with requests for projects in their districts.

After using the Freedom of Information Act to acquire the congressional correspondence to just one federal agency--the Department of Agriculture--the Times discovered more than a dozen two-faced GOP members, including Rep. Joe "You Lie" Wilson, the South Carolina Republican who interrupted President Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress last year.

As the Times reported, Wilson voted against the stimulus but then "elbowed his way into the rush for federal stimulus cash" in a letter he sent to Agriculture Secretary Thomas Vilsack.

"We know their endeavor will provide jobs and investment," Wilson said on behalf of some hometown candidates for stimulus funds.

Then there is Sen. Robert Bennett of Utah. Not a bad guy. But he also assured us that the stimulus bill was awful, then wrote to Vilsack with a list of home state projects seeking stimulus cash. Like Wilson, Bennett was pretty sure that the stimulus would do what the Obama administration said it would. Which is no big surprise, considering that almost every economist with a brain on the planet endorses counter-cyclical stimulus plans to ease recessions and ward off depressions.

As the Times reported:

"On Feb. 13, 2009, Sen. Robert F. Bennett, Utah Republican, issued a statement criticizing the stimulus--but two days earlier, he privately forwarded to Mr. Vilsack a list of projects seeking stimulus money. "I believe the addition of federal funds to these projects would maximize the stimulative effect of these projects on the local economy," he wrote.

There is nothing new in this kind of hypocrisy. Since Yorktown, American politicians have been complaining in public about waste and spending, while scheming in private to bring home the bacon.

And you know who encourages them? We, the people. We hail the politicians and their brave talk about reducing the role of government, then nod with piggy approval when the local newspaper prints their picture at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for some Bridge to Nowhere.

That is politics. But if we are really serious about changing things, if the debt this time is truly scary, then this is the kind of behavior that has to stop--in both political parties.

So, kudos to the Washington Times for not being an apologist for the GOP, and for the guts it took to cut against the partisan grain. Let's hope that Fox News and the tea baggers will see the light and do the same.

Palin blasts 'Family Guy'

Sarah Palin is lashing out at the portrayal of a character with Down syndrome on the Fox animated comedy "Family Guy."

Palin said Sunday night's episode felt like "another kick in the gut." Palin's youngest son, Trig, has Down syndrome.

The episode features the character Chris falling for a girl with Down syndrome. On a date, he asks what her parents do.

She replies: "My dad's an accountant, and my mom is the former governor of Alaska."

Palin resigned as Alaska governor last summer.

Palin's oldest daughter, Bristol, also was quoted on her mother's Facebook page, calling the show's writers "heartless jerks."

"When you're the son or daughter of a public figure, you have to develop thick skin. My siblings and I all have that, but insults directed at our youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent," she wrote.

"If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed," Bristol Palin added in a later posting.

Sarah Palin said that she'd asked her daughter what she thought of the show and Bristol's reply was "a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make about an issue that begs the question: When is enough enough?"

This isn't the first time Palin has spoken out over an attack, real or perceived, on her family. Last year, she condemned a joke David Letterman made about her daughter, for which he later apologized.

'Its OK When Rush Says Retard' (Oh Yea...Palins Going To Need Rush)

WASHINGTON -- Sarah Palin created quite the stir late last week when she called for President Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emanuel to be fired over privately using the word "retarded" in a pejorative manner.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate, whose child has Down Syndrome, took to Facebook to launch a forceful attack on Emanuel, calling his words "indecent," "sick" and "offensive."

And if Emanuel's use of the word in such a context is wrong, so must it be when conservatives do it, right? Apparently not.

Confronted with the fact that Palin's fellow media star Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly used the word "retards" to describe those he disagrees with, Palin's spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton emailed a response to The Plum Line's Greg Sargent.

"Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful," she wrote.

Is this what Palin calls fiscal conservatism?

Palin cabins not noted in tax assessments

By RACHEL D'ORO

Associated Press Writer

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Records show that Sarah Palin has not paid any property taxes on cabins that have been built on two backcountry plots partially owned by the former Alaska governor.

It's unclear how long ago the structures were built, but records show that there are no tax assessments for the buildings. Property taxes were only paid on the land - and not the structures themselves.

The issue has attracted the attention of local tax officials who conducted a scheduled aerial survey of the property on Thursday.

Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, says it is not the responsibility of property owners to report structures that go up on their land. But local assessor Dave Dunivan says owners are required by state law to report any omissions or errors in their tax assessments.

More hypocricy. When does hypocricy become flat out deceipt?

Cheney Feb. 15, 2010

On ABC's This Week, Cheney, brought up Obama's initial reaction to the news of the bombing attempt. Cheney charged that the president had at first hastily dismissed the Christmas Day bomb attempt as an "isolated" incident with limited relevance for the broader fight against terrorism:

"Well, my reference to the notion that the president was trying to avoid treating this as a war was in relation to his initial response when we heard about the Christmas underwear bomber up in Detroit, when he went out and said this was the act of an isolated extremist. No, it wasn't," Cheney said. "And we found out over time, obviously -- and he eventually changed his assessment -- but that, in fact, this was an individual who'd been trained by al-Qaida, who'd been part of a larger conspiracy, and it was closer to being an act of war than it was the act of an isolated extremist. It's the mindset that concerns me, John. I think it's very important to go back and keep in mind the distinction between handling these events as criminal acts, which was the way we did before 9/11, and then looking at 9/11 and saying, 'This is not a criminal act,' not when you destroy 16 acres of Manhattan, kill 3,000 Americans, blow a big hole in the Pentagon. That's an act of war."

Daily Show

Gingrich on Richard Reid the shoe bomber.

Video: Newt Gingrich | The Daily Show | Comedy Central

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Tuesday, leveling harsh criticism against the Obama administration.

After Gingrich assailed the administration for reading Miranda Rights to Detroit undie bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, Stewart drew a comparison to something that happened under George W. Bush.

"Didn't they do the same with Richard Reid, who was the shoe bomber?" he asked the Republican icon.

"Richard Reid was an American citizen," insisted Gingrich.

Reid is actually a British citizen of Jamaican descent.

Stewart started to raise the Miranda Rights issue again, but Gingrich pushed the conversation along.

Later, when Gingrich acknowledged that part of his job is to reach out to the emotions of the American people, Stewart shot back, "I think that's wise. And don't let reality get in the way."

At the end of the show, Stewart realized that Gingrich had falsely claimed the shoe bomber was an American citizen and noted that to his audience.

The relevant portion of the interview begins at the 2:15 mark.

This ain't funny:

The Obama Administration is touting that their stimulus program has saved or created 640,329 jobs since it was enacted back in February through the end of October. This number is updated and posted on the Administration’s recovery.gov web site. That amounts to $246,436 per job based on the $157.8bn that has been awarded so far! Total compensation earned by the average payroll employee during October, on an annualized basis, was $59,867. If the government had simply used the funds awarded so far to pay for a year’s worth of labor, that would have paid for 2.6mn jobs!

Why not then just give the 2.6 million people the money?

It isn't the government letting anyone down, its the private sector not doing what they are supposed to do......create jobs!

Clear enough?yeah! Now that we've eliminated most of the hyperbole.

So why do you think it is that the private sector has not done better in job creation? After all they don't even need to invest their own money into the project. The government has done all that for them.

You often take the position of apologist for the private sector. Whats the answer?

Whats your point? Most of the listed projects are either done directly by private businesses or the money is directed to localities who in turn farm out the majority of work to the private sector.

So yes, I do think it ends up in the hands of the private sector. If not, why would your party (republicans) accept the money?

The point of this is that Republicans are talking out of both sides of their mouths. Are they against it and it doesnt work or should we assume theyre for it because they themselves within their own constituency are claiming success for the stimulus?

This is clearly egregious politic-ism at its very worst.

This is a prime example of why our government is broken.

From your list of wasted stimulus monies, how many of those projects were funded by Republicans asking for those very stimulus dollars they cry are destroying our country?

They have blindingly destroyed their own credibility.

However, as we witnessed with the election and then re-election of Bush, credibility is not what conservatives and many independents care about when its a conservative reality because most on the left are too polite and courteous to exploit it, thinking its so obvious anyone could see it.

Thats the basic mistake of the left. We're too f@#%&#g polite.

Well Dems are pretty messed up too. They need to prioritize, be fiscally responsible and only enact legislation they can actually afford. Id love to have a villa on the Mediterranean and I may find someone willing to lend me the money to do it but why would I knowing I probably couldnt pay it back.

Both sides are equally inept.

Both sides are equally inept.you're supposed to marry into that kind of situation, Nomad. Where have you been?

But to your accurate statement.

The left had better stop criticizing itself and begin playing the same game conservatives do, or its a doomed party.

Democrats are the party who actually has the balls to disagree with one another. Thats healthy, but the other side of the isle appears unified, and regardless of how wrong they are, Americans are drawn to and admire cohesion. You and I are no different either, thats why we like team sports, we get pleasure out of watching units work together to achieve their goals. Theres also a general feeling of security in unity.

We love winners!

The republican party understands this about people, thats why they play psychological games. Its why no matter what the situation is they keep repeating the same exact words and phrases. They understand hot buttons. Its salesmanship pure and simple.

How could there be any pork in stimulus bill when the chosen one says it ain't so????:
