In the Pub. I'd always been told my family name was Irish. You explained, with references, that it was, indeed, Scottish.

Here in the States, we have St. Patrick's Day. It's basically an excuse to blow off work and drink all day. All the bars get kegs of beer colored with green food coloring in honor of the Irish "holiday."

Leave it to the tourists.:-5

Sussex by the sea...9 miles west of Brighton. 'Sunny' Worthing is 2 miles away...it used to be called 'Gods waiting room' because of the high level of 'mature' people who live there....it's really not that bad now.

Why Gods Waiting room ? Because a large proprtion of the population were over retirement age. The town was full of retirement homes and nursing homes and there were loads of undertakers and the town was struggling for land for cemetrys. The climate here is one of the best in the UK apart from the west country...cornwall etc. The land is flat....easy to get around. It's not like that now though but the reputation is hard to shake off. we have gone in the opposite direction and have a very young population...in fact we a troubled by 'Yob' culture in some areas.....poor parental control...youngsters as young as 12 terrorising neighbourhoods....sad world

Now Brighton's another place altogether. Very cosmopolitan, full of life ( and tourists in the summer) and it is the city where my lovely daughter lives. I go there as often as possible on the train...takes 20 mins...The Regency palace there is a lovely place. Queen Victoria hated it which was why she spent her holidays at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight in Hampshire.

What did you think of what you saw on the TV Buzz ?
