Allow me to be the first to say you're nutty as a. ;)

My aunt used to make really good ones, lots. I like just a small

slice every once in a while, with a cup of tea. Today is a rainy

day here, and a little fruitcake would go good right about now!

I guess I can understand people who don't care for them, but it

is one of those things I think depends on your first expeience

with them. If you've tasted one that came in a can sitting in

Woolworth's back room for 3 years, then yeah, you might not

like 'em!

I've never had it.
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

I adore fruitcake,as if the American one is the same as the UK one, then it is not too sweet,I love our Christmas cake minus the marzipan and icing as that is too sweet for me. I like to soak the fruit in guiness before I make it,as it turns out very moist and yummy,

Take out the weird fruit and I might like it.

But it's just wrong seeing those strange pieces of half fruit mucking up a perfectly good cake. Even the fruit is old.

I think of them as one of those last minute gifts you get at the grocery for those people who happen to stop by with a gift you weren't expecting. :wah:
