Mystery Of The Internet

Post by ellieR »

Something strange happened on the Internet. People started disappearing. At first the police thought it was just a log out and the people were not online. Upon further investigation, they found the people were not available or had they been seen in days.

The warning was sent out to the Internet, warning people to stay off until this mystery was solved. People did not believe this and stayed on the Internet. One by one they disappeared. A disaster was issued and the President ordered a shut down of the Internet.

People were having withdrawal symptoms and the emergency rooms were full. Doctors were bewildered by the amount of addicted people who couldn’t live without the Internet. People from discussion forums were lost and others didn’t know what to do with the time off the Internet. Television programs were swamped with viewers. Restaurants were crowded as were movie theaters and other entertainment facilities.

The FBI took over the case and no one was found. Where could all these people have gone? Some thought it was aliens from another planet. No signs were found and none of the missing had been seen. Who could make people disappear on the Internet?

Mrs. Jarvis was on a Senior Message Board called Senior Club. She was on there all the time and then poof she was gone. Rita, the administrator, said she was posting to Elmer and she told him she was feeling funny and then he said she disappeared off the screen. Mrs. Jarvis was living alone but her little dog was barking, when the neighbors heard him and called the police. Mrs. Jarvis never left Buffy alone and there he was all alone. They took Buffy to their house and kept him as no one seemed to know where Mrs. Jarvis had gone.

Other stories seemed similar. All the protected systems were not enough to keep out the invaders. As the weeks went by, the more people were throwing out their computers. The Internet was dead. Al Gore said he was sorry he invented the Internet and Bill Gates was going bankrupt.

A little boy of nine solved the mystery. He told the FBI that he had made the people disappear with his computer game. It was called Destroy The Internet. He felt bad about what happened but didn’t think it was his fault as he thought it wouldn’t happen. The game took over and caused the people to disappear at random. He promised to make them reappear and at this time is still trying.

and others didn’t know what to do with the time off the Internet.

The pub, to continue the discussions made on the internet. Actually that's exactly what my friends and I do .
