Forever

She arrived in a dream, like an angel in the night,

A temptress in a summer dress.

She looked so pretty in the moonlight, the autumnal moonlight,

The silver clouds wistful in their lonely sky.

Her hair blew in the gentle breeze, her dress fluttered,

An invocation of lust, an enchantment, a smile.

Her voice, like honey, was sweet and enticing,

“Time drips away with malice as I’m waiting,

Waiting for your kiss, your touch, your love.

Time slips away, with heartache,

As I’m waiting.”

She said she was waiting for a man to treat her right,

But you know I’ve always been here for you,

She said she needed the kiss of lovers in the night,

But you know I’ve been waiting here by your side.

“Wait awhile longer with me, share this kiss, this night is ours.”

A silhouette set against the rising sun of two lovers kissing,

Two lovers lost in an embrace where nothing else matters,

Lost in an embrace, timeless.

Forever.
