Didn't the dixie chicks get banned from american radio for making anti-war comments or something? It's not just china where the powers that be try and stifle opposing voices america has a long track record of banning songs and films deemed unpatriotic or inappropriate and your own human rights record isn't exactly one to be proud of.

Poor man. He's in for a bad time.

All of us have blotches on our human rights records. But none of us match up to China in this regard these days. Interesting times. They are changing leader at present though it seems no-one knows much about him; and it remains to be seen whether the huge economic growth they have will effect social and political change.

A few years ago, I saw a defence of the Chinese occupation of Tibet on the grounds that the English were hypocritical to complain given our occupation of Wales...
The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"

Lone voice: "I'm not."

They didn't get banned, Some right wingers boycotted them but there was no ban what so ever.
