I hate to sound like an old curmudgeon, but I hate what they have done to the college bowl games.
The rampant commercialism has ruined it for me.
I still may be watching my Alma Mater, Florida State, play South Carolina.
And I will be cheering for the National Champions, Auburn, in Glendale.

Yes, commercialism is now so evident-I have great difficulty in finding the original bowl names among the sponsors!

I cannot help but wonder about some of the matches.
While eating Pizza at a local sports bar, I watched Illinois dominate Baylor.
Earlier Maryland (9-4) beat East Carolina (6-7) like the proverbial red-headed stepchild.
And OK St (11-2) clobbered Arizona (7-6).
I fear my Hogs will get a whuppin from Ohio St at the Sugar bowl, but I will still be watching and cheering.
I am looking forward to the "Chik-fil-A" bowl (in spite of its name) to see the FSU - SC game.
Also, for at least a little while, tomorrow, I will be a Notre Dame fan as they hopefully trounce Miami. (My three favorite college teams are, FSU, Arkansas, and whoever is playing Miami.)

I think they need to scrap the whole bowls thing and have an actual playoff system
College Bowl Games
They seem to be working that direction, though I think folks put too much importance on the whole "Who's #1"
In my book, FSU is always #1 and I don't care about the bowl games that much. Though bragging rights from a good bowl game can be good.
I don't think any one game can decide who is really the best.
Too many variables.
