I thought I would post the videos from the USA vs Mexico game played last night to start off some videos of US soccer(Football for the rest of you :wah: ) for those that don't regularly view the "American soccer/European football" thread. That and I believe I can only embed videos in this section of the forum.

Feb 7 2007

USA 2

Mexico 0

Both goals, the first coming from a Jimmy Conrad header from a corner kick from Landon Donavon in the 51st

Cool! We were rubbish against San Marino, our manager is going to have to go, as is the chief executive of the FAI, he is an even worse muppet. Good clips, sad goalie! :-6

USA's next match is against Ecuador on March 25th...

They have been impressive in their first two friendly's after their disappointing result in the 2006 World Cup beating Denmark 3-1 and most recently a 2-0 victory over Mexico on the 7th of Feb.

USA vs Trinidad and Tobago in the Gold Cup June 9, 2007...

The refs were completely terrible in calling the US offside three times in which they blatantly weren't but none the less the US still scored two goals on T&T to improve their unbeaten streak in all of Concacaf competition in the Group stages since 1991...

USA 2

T&T 0

Brian Ching goal...

Johnson's Goal created by Donavon...I don't think people know just how fast Donavon is...

I watched it...

They played every aspect of the game pretty well I thought throughout both of their games but the inexperience in their finishing is definitely showing...

To be honest I see a real bright side to the US national soccer team coming from playing against Argentina and Paraguay...

I look for them to redeem themselves against Columbia...

Hey(complete newbie here please be gentle),

I was just wondering if anyone thinks that the USA deserve their high standing in the FIFA rankings when you look at the quality of the teams they face on a regular basis?

I keep hearing about that logic and can't help but wonder why people don't say the same thing about the CONMEBOL region...

We all know that Argentina and Brazil dominate the CONMEBOL region that have in my opinion about equally the same degree of competition as the CONCACAF region...

I would say that the CONMEBOL region is slightly more competitive but to be honest come on...The regions are very similar yet Argentina and Brazil are never questioned as to their FIFA World Ranking...

Granted I know that Argentina and Brazil are two of the best countries in the world at soccer but to look at it from an unbiased perspective what's the difference?...

To answer your question specifically it would be hard for me to give you a somewhat unbiased answer so I'll answer by saying this...

I don't think the USA is as bad as the world would like to portray them as being...So having said that all of the regions apart from the UEFA region could be criticized in the same way...

That is a very valid point. i personally have a massive problem with the FIFA rankings. I agree that the USA arn't that bad but I would not say they where the 14th best team in the world.(and scotland at 22, should be much higher lol) I have to disagree about the African nations though as many teams are emerging from Africa that have the potential to cause a few surprises.

USA vs Brazil 09/09/07 -- 2-4...

I thought the US Played Brazil very well and I actually thought the game could have and probably should have ended very respectively at 3-3 considering there was a blatant penalty against Brazil...

Just that by the scoreline from the papers doesn't serve the United States Mens soccer team's ability to play against the best soccer/football teams in the world justice...

But Brazil eventually won 4-2...

Actually my great-grandmother bore the name "Ballard" from which I do believe was mostly an English surname?, so I could quite possibly have a British blood line...

:yh_think, although if you want to get technical I am absolutely certain I have a significant amount of German heritage in my bloodline so quite possibly you Brits could be carrying my bloodline...:yh_tong2...Hehe...

Oh well thank you...

Too bad I wasn't able to watch it...

It's hard being an American Fulham fan...

Well...I do visit myp2p.eu to view alot of games but sometimes when Fulham doesn't play someone with a relatively large fan base it's hard to catch the game on television...I do get to see a majority of them but only on the internet...The quality isn't all that great but it beats not seeing them at all...

In any case, thank you...I suppose the additions of Gera, Zamora, and Andy Johnson, and I thought Pantsil did extremely well against the arse(:yh_wink - :wah:) have all made Fulham a team to not mess with...

Look out people...We're going to the Champions League!!!...

Hehe...:yh_wink...
