I must have missed this first time around in the news.
Watched a disturbing, thought provoking programme last night.
Marine 'A': Criminal or Casualty of War?
The questions it raised about whether a soldier should be judged by the same yardstick as civilians, or considering the pressure of active duty understand that these sort of lines will be crossed.
Marine guilty of Afghanistan murder
Murder marine Al Blackman no risk to society

Al Blackman Marine murderer ?
Al Blackman Marine murderer ?

I'll come back and read the texts tomorrow. I did see some of that programme last night too. I felt very disturbed that he mentioned the Geneva Convention and that he 'knew' he'd broken it. Guilty in my mind at the moment, but will see if I'm swayed by any of your links tomorrow, too late to read them now.
