A friend just got a new puppy, and here's a video

of their cat being a total DOLL:

It's Interesting animal behaviour.

The pup Is displaying all the signs of ' litter buddie ' activity where In a litter of puppies, they mouth each other In play fighting to engage play along with the pronking onto each others backs. The Pup now without the rest of his litter has transferred the litter buddy activity to the cat to engage play.

Meanwhile the cat understands this as kittens have litter buddy activity Identical to puppies and he's tolerating the pup. This will change as the pup gets older and then the cat will just stroll off with a look of haughty disdain.

Looked like kitty was kind of enjoying it and the puppy was actually being fairly gentle. No offense to your friends but Frosty could stand to lose about five pounds (or more.)

Glad to hear you say that, Snooze, it's so true. But I find it really hard

to convince ANYBODY to take weight off their animals.

I took our cat Dahlia to the vet recently, and they were suitably impressed

(in fact the tech high fived me!) when I said her food was measured...

with a shot glass! She is beautifully slender, with shiny coat.

I'm not that precise but neither of my cats are fat. I want them both to be around as long as possible and since EVERYTHING seems to damage cats' kidneys, I'm not taking any chances.

I guess I'm kind of a hypocrite since I'm a fatty myself which I guess means I'm more concerned with my cats' health than my own. :S
